Wicked Thistle didn’t start in a boardroom or a fancy tasting room. It started on a rickety front porch in the hills outside Asheville — the kind of place where time slows down, lightning bugs put on a show, and someone’s always handing you a cold one before you even ask.

Our family’s been on this land for generations, long before we ever brewed a single batch. We grew up chasing mountain air, hauling wood, getting our hands dirty, and learning that the best things in life take time — and a little bite.

What we make here isn’t just beer. It’s memory. It’s grit. It’s the sound of laughter over a tailgate and the stillness of the woods just before a storm rolls in. Every bottle is brewed with the same rebellious spirit that runs through these hills — bold, unpolished, and wildly proud of where we’re from.

We’re a family-owned, family-run operation. You'll still find our grandpa splitting wood out back, our aunt hand-labeling cider bottles, and the newest generation of Thistle kids stacking chairs after an event, dancing barefoot to the last song of the night. This isn’t a business. It’s a legacy — one built on stubborn roots, long toasts, and a whole lot of love.
